Georgian blue glass and rose cut diamond oval bague au firmament ring, set in silver and gold. This ring has bright cut engraving on the cigar-shaped shank. The blue glass panel has a row of three rose-cut diamonds with a border of rose-cut diamonds. The central diamonds are approximately 1.8 carats with a border of approximately 1.25 carats G-J colour and VS to SI stones. The 'Bague au Firmament' or 'Ring of the Heavens' was intended to evoke the night sky sprinkled with stars, the blue glass representing the sky and the diamonds the stars. Circa 1780
